Breyer has announced some of the BreyerFest 2010 special runs on their blog. Quite an interesting collection! And I love how they have coordinated the names of the models to match their "Hollywood" theme for this year. Click the pictures below to see larger versions.
711111 Stage Mom and Child Star
This is a lovely mare and foal set. It's hard to tell from their photograph, but I think these might be using the Stock Horse Mare and Action Stock Horse Foal molds. (Update: these are Giselle and Gilen.) I love the gray dapples and shading on the mare, and the black foal has some nice stockings.

711112 Star Studded
Another glossy model, this one an interesting dark blood bay appaloosa. (Is there even such a thing in real life? Well, it's so pretty, who cares?!) This uses the Lone Ranger's Silver mold sculpted by Kathleen Moody, which seems entirely appropriate to the Hollywood theme.

711113 Stunt Double
This is a really nice chestnut pinto (would he be a sabino overo? I confess I am not the best at identifying pinto coat patterns) using the Indian Pony mold, sculpted by Chris Hess in 1970 Hidalgo mold Indian Pony mold, sculpted by Chris Hess in 1970. The Indian Pony has been released in a lot of different coat color and pattern combinations, and Stunt Double will be a nice addition to any conga line!

711114 Tinseltown
One of our readers has already scored a Tinseltown! I think this is one of the loveliest of the special runs. This uses the Lonesome Glory mold (one of my personal favorites), and is a wonderful buckskin. The shading of the buckskin color over his musculature is really nicely done, and it looks like there are some primitive stripes at the top of his right front black stocking, which is a really nice touch!

71115 Red Carpet Royalty
This is a glossy blood bay with white stockings, using the Goffert mold. Very pretty! The Goffert mold is another one that Breyer likes to trot out (heh) for special occasions. If I had infinite shelf space and money, I would spend my days tracking down a complete Goffert conga line.

711116 Technicolor
Whoa Nellie! This lineup of 2010 Special Runs has everything, and if you want to have everything then you need to include a fantasy model. This one uses the ever popular Huckleberry Bey model, and appears to have an opalescent mane and tail, lemon yellow dappling, and an iridescent sheen.

711117 Beethoven
This is a natural! The Saint Bernard mold is one of the oldest Breyers, having been introduced in 1960. Here playing Beethoven, the famed cinematic Saint Bernard who has been featured in six movies since the first one was released in 1992. (It can't really have been that long ago, can it?!)

71118 Dances With Wolves
This is an impressively decorated and adorned model. Is it a slightly altered version of Susecion? It's hard for me to tell from the tiny picture. There's a lot going on there! I hope he doesn't eat that saddle blanket - it looks both expensive and indigestible.
